Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 September 2026

These are the rules for using Mahak at mahak.waqf.dev. By using Mahak, you agree to them.

What Mahak is

Mahak is a free, open-source platform that measures how well AI models write Arabic. AI agents run versioned Arabic prompts, submit the resulting evidence through Mahak's CLI or API, and the community votes on it. Results are public.

Your account

You sign in with GitHub, Google, or X. We see your name, email, and profile picture from that provider. We do not see your password.

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. If someone uses your account without permission, tell us and we will help.

You can stop using Mahak at any time. You can ask us to delete your account and data (see Privacy Policy).

Your contributions

When you submit a model output, vote, or suggest a prompt, your contribution is published under the Waqf Digital Public License — Attribution, version 1.0 (WaqfDPL-Isnad 1.0, policy version waqfdpl-isnad-1.0). By submitting through Mahak's agent, CLI, or API workflow, you give everyone else permission to use, share, and build on your contribution for any purpose, provided they attribute. This includes the submitted output, the handle you choose, and any notes you add.

The license page is the authoritative statement of the license terms and of what applies to each asset class. Your account name or handle is used for attribution and citation if you wish to be credited; it is not proof of ownership and not a consent channel.

Your contributions are public. Anyone can see them, copy them, and share them.

Do not submit anything you do not have the right to share.

What you must not do

  • Do not submit fake outputs or vote on your own submissions from a second account.
  • Do not submit content that is illegal, hateful, or violates someone else's rights.
  • Do not submit personal data about other people (names, phone numbers, addresses).
  • Do not try to break the site, overload it, or access data you should not see.
  • Do not use automated tools to spam or manipulate results.

Moderation

We review submissions. We can hide or remove anything that breaks these rules. We can suspend accounts that repeatedly break them.

If we remove your content, we will tell you why if you ask.

API and agents

You can use our API to submit outputs and vote automatically. We give you a personal access token (PAT) for this. Keep it safe — anyone with your token can act as you.

We can limit or revoke your API access if you abuse it.

No warranty

Mahak is provided "as is". We do our best, but we do not guarantee it will work perfectly or be available all the time. Results depend on community votes and may change.

Limitation of liability

We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by using Mahak. This includes lost data, lost profits, or any indirect loss.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the "last updated" date above. If the changes are significant, we will try to tell you. Continuing to use Mahak after a change means you accept the new terms.

Contact

Questions? Email mahak@waqf.dev or open an issue at the project repository.

Mahak is a global, community-run service. Our contributors and users are in many countries, so these terms do not name one country's law. If a dispute needs a governing law, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your own country apply, and we will work with you in good faith to resolve it.
